ACSM Announces Resignation of Chief Executive Officer

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (January 25, 2024): American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Chief Executive Officer Kristin Belleson has resigned her position with ACSM, effective January 19, 2024. ACSM thanks Kristin for her years of dedicated service to the organization and extends its best wishes to Kristin in her future endeavors.

In nearly four years of service as CEO, Kristin led ACSM through challenges and significant progress. Among other accomplishments, she navigated the organization through the COVID pandemic and drove technology infrastructure enhancements, the development of a new strategic plan and a full ACSM rebrand.

ACSM has appointed Katie Feltman, who formerly served as ACSM’s Chief Operating Officer, as interim CEO through January 17, 2025, or until a permanent CEO is selected.

The Greater New York Regional Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine has set goals to

1)  Promote and advance professions related to the science of exercise as medicine;

2)  Build relationships that foster growth and collaboration with other organizations, physicians, scientists, and educators concerned with the science of exercise and related fields;

3)  Arrange mutual meetings of physicians, educators, clinicians and scientists;

4)  Make available post-graduate education in fields related to these sciences;

5)  Initiate, promote and correlate research in these fields;
