ACSM Invites Editor-in-Chief Applications and Nominations for Two Journals

Sept. 25, 2024

ACSM is now accepting applications and nominations for the role of editor-in-chief of Current Sports Medicine Reports (CSMR) and Exercise, Sports, and Movement (ESM).

For Current Sports Medicine Reports

ACSM is now accepting applications and nominations for the role of editor-in-chief of CSMR. Ideally, applicants should be ACSM clinician members in good standing. Applicants’ editorial experiences, organizational abilities, creativity, and capacity to serve in this role will be considered. Applications and nominations will be open through February 3, 2025, and finalists will be virtually interviewed in the spring of 2025.

As ACSM’s official clinical review journal, CSMR is designed to meet the unique needs of ACSM’s clinician members. The goal of CSMR is to translate the latest research and advances in the field into information clinicians can use in caring for patients. To do so, CSMR focuses on one sports medicine topic in each issue. CSMR is a monthly online-only journal. The journal follows the format for all ACSM journals with an editorial board and editor-in-chief.

For Exercise, Sport, and Movement

Ideally, applicants should be ACSM members in good standing. Applicants’ editorial experiences, organizational abilities, creativity, and capacity to serve in this role will be considered. Applications and nominations will be open through January 3, 2025, and finalists will be interviewed in the spring of 2025.

ESM was launched in 2022 as ACSM’s premier open access journal, meaning its content is free for any reader to access and authors retain copyright to materials published. An international peer-reviewed journal, ESM has a broad scope encompassing scientific, clinical, public health, community, and policy topics in all areas related to sports medicine and exercise/movement science. ESM uses a continuous publication model with articles compiled into quarterly compendia. The journal follows the format for all ACSM journals with an editorial board and editor-in-chief.
