This webinar will address the critical, yet often overlooked, topic of healthy lean mass gain in athletes and military personnel.

While weight loss strategies are well-established, the optimal nutritional approaches for building muscle and enhancing performance remain largely unexplored. The speakers will delve into the limited existing research, highlighting the gaps in our understanding of energy and macronutrient needs for healthy weight gain, particularly in light of studies conducted in the past two decades, which have largely focused on protein intake and timing on acute muscle protein synthesis. They will also address the significant lack of research including female participants, aiming to provide practical insights and strategies to bridge these knowledge gaps and promote effective, healthy weight gain.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Summarize the current performance nutrition recommendations for intentional weight gain for athletes and military personnel.
  • Evaluate the quality and quantity of the current literature supporting weight gain regimens for athletes and military personnel.
  • Discuss gaps in current knowledge related to healthy weight gain.

Presented by ACSM in partnership with PINES.

All live attendees will earn 1 continuing education credit (CEC).
