Student Membership

ACSM membership is designed to enhance your experience while you’re in school and empower you to hit the ground running when you graduate.

As the largest and most comprehensive sports medicine association, ACSM student membership connects you with a diverse group of fellow students and established professionals. Many former students say the relationships they developed through ACSM changed the course of their career!

Cost: $30 Annually

Student membership is open to any college student meeting the following criteria:

Full-time undergraduate student studying in a field related to exercise science or sports medicine and is currently enrolled in 12+ credit hours.
Graduate student who has earned a bachelor’s degree in a field related to exercise science or sports medicine and is carrying at least 6+ credit hours.
Medical Student membership is open to any college student who has been accepted into a medical school and is carrying at least one-half of a full academic load, as defined by the attending institution.

Grants and Awards

ACSM is dedicated to the academic and career growth of its members, as well as the growth of the sports medicine and exercise science fields. The ACSM Foundation offers research grants and travel awards to boost these efforts.

Mentor Programs

ACSM offers formal mentorship programs to propel students and young professionals into leadership roles. ACSM's Leadership and Diversity Training Program provides both mentorship and financial assistance to participate in ACSM programming.

Leadership Opportunities

Student members can serve on ACSM committees, contribute to ACSM blogs and resources, present at ACSM's Annual Meeting, join Special interest Groups, and even serve on a Regional Chapter or National Board of Trustees! Graduate student members are eligible to vote in the annual ACSM election.
