The ACSM Committee on Certification and Registry Boards (CCRB) is seeking passionate, credentialed professionals to serve on its Clinical Exercise Physiologist, Exercise Physiologist, and Personal Trainer exam development and continuing professional education subcommittees.

Open CCRB Positions and Descriptions 

CCRB is currently accepting applications for the following roles: 

ACSM-CEP Credentialing Committee 
  • Academician – Clinical Exercise Physiology/Pathophysiology 
    • PhD required 
    • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience  
    • ACSM-CEP in good standing 
    • Direct experience teaching or overseeing the implementation of the following: advanced exercise physiology; musculoskeletal system, structure and plasticity; cardiopulmonary structure, function and dynamics; nervous system and neuromuscular function; macronutrient metabolism, bioenergetics, and mitochondrial biogenesis; endocrine and immune systems; integrated exercise responses; environmental exercise physiology 
    • Direct experience teaching or overseeing the implementation of the following: pathophysiology of common cardiovascular diseases, obstructive and restrictive pulmonary diseases, metabolic diseases, neoplastic, immunologic/hematologic disorders and neuromuscular diseases; ECG interpretation involving the recognition of the most common abnormalities; pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of commonly prescribed drugs (e.g., antibiotics/antivirals, anti-inflammatory drugs, pain medications, muscle relaxers, asthma medications, antihistamines, GI tract medications, hypertension and heart disease medications, antipsychotic medications, diabetes 
  • Practitioner – Cardiac, Pulmonary, Rehab Exercise Specialist 
    • ACSM-CEP in good standing 
    • Minimum of 2–3 years of management experience (e.g., interns, first-year hires) 
    • Direct experience administering or overseeing cardiac and pulmonary rehab programs 
    • Experience working with healthcare providers (e.g., physicians, physical therapists, dietitians, nurses) 
ACSM-EP Credentialing Committee 
  • Academician – Fitness Generalist 
    • MS required; PhD preferred 
    • ACSM-EP in good standing 
    • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience 
    • Direct experience teaching or overseeing: 
    • Preparticipation screening 
    • Fitness testing protocols (including administration, sequencing, termination criteria) 
    • Anthropometric and body composition assessments  
  • Academician – Behavior Change, Exercise Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Health Education 
    • MS required; PhD/PsyD preferred 
    • ACSM-EP in good standing 
    • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience 
    • Direct experience teaching or overseeing: 
    • Promotion of physical activity and exercise (e.g., self-esteem, depression, body image, anxiety, motivation, social support, perceived control) 
    • Psychological and emotional consequences of physical activity and exercise 
    • Psychological, emotional, and health-related consequences of inactivity 
  • Practitioner – Small Fitness Studio/Boutique 
    • ACSM-EP in good standing 
    • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience 
    • Direct experience administering or overseeing programs for apparently healthy clients, including: 
    • Flexibility, muscular strength, muscular endurance, balance, agility, and reaction time 
    • Virtual-based training/coaching 
  • Practitioner – Large Fitness Center (College Rec Center) 
    • ACSM-EP in good standing 
    • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience 
    • Direct experience administering or overseeing similar programs in a college recreation center setting. 
ACSM-CPT Credentialing Committee 
  • Practitioner – Small Fitness Studio/Boutique 
    • ACSM-CPT, ACSM-EP, or ACSM-CEP in good standing 
    • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience 
    • Direct experience administering or overseeing programs for apparently healthy clients, including: 
    • Flexibility, muscular strength, muscular endurance, balance, agility, and reaction time 
    • Virtual-based training/coaching 
  • Practitioner – Large Fitness Center (College Rec Center) 
    • ACSM-CPT, ACSM-EP, or ACSM-CEP in good standing 
    • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience 
    • Direct experience administering or overseeing similar programs in a college recreation center setting 
  • Practitioner – Inclusive Exercise 
    • ACSM-CPT, ACSM-EP, or ACSM-CEP in good standing 
    • Minimum of 2–3 years of related experience 
    • Direct experience administering or overseeing programs for: 
    • Healthy special populations (e.g., older adults, children, adolescents, pregnant women) 
    • Inclusive exercise programs aligned with ADA policy and adapted for individuals with physical, sensory, or cognitive disabilities who are medically cleared to exercise 
Continuing Professional Education Subcommittee 
  • Certified Professional Member 
    • ACSM-GEI, ACSM-CPT, ACSM-EP, or ACSM-CEP in good standing 
    • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience
