INDIANAPOLIS – The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF) announced a strategic partnership today aimed at expanding access to high-quality education for exercise professionals. Through this collaboration, ACSM will begin offering NCSF-developed continuing education programs to its certified professionals that will expand their learning and career advancement opportunities.

Both ACSM and NCSF are accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and have a shared commitment to excellence, integrity and evidence-based practice in the health fitness industry. This partnership reflects a mutual dedication to supporting the growth and advancement of exercise professionals through accessible, high-quality educational resources.

“This partnership with NCSF supports our mission to advance the credibility and integrity of ACSM certified professionals through career-long development grounded in evidence-based practices,” said Lauren Korzan, ACSM Certification Board chair. “By expanding access to high-quality specialty education, we’re empowering ACSM professionals to extend and enrich lives through the power of movement.”

The integration of NCSF’s specialty courses into ACSM’s educational offerings will begin this fall, with topics ranging from recovery to advanced program design. These courses will be available through ACSM’s learning platform and will count toward continuing education credits for both organizations.

“NCSF is excited to work alongside ACSM to empower exercise professionals with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed,” said Paul Garbarino, NCSF director of operations. “Together, we’re fostering a more unified and educated workforce that can better serve the public’s health and fitness needs.”

This partnership marks a significant step forward in creating a more collaborative and inclusive professional landscape for exercise science and fitness education.
