Congratulations to the ACSM journals for top impact factor ratings!
In June 2026, new Journal Impact Factors (JIFs) were released with several ACSM journals climbing in value. JIF is one of several metrics that can be used to help judge the quality of a journal with higher JIFs representing a higher journal quality. JIFs measure citations in a year to articles published in the journal in the two prior years. Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise® and Exercise and Sport Sciences Reviews ranked in the top 20 of 136 journals. Congratulations to all the ACSM journals for their scientific impact!

Call for oral sessions and poster abstracts to the 2027 Female Athlete Conference
The 8th Biennial International Female Athlete Conference (FAC) is officially open. The in-person conference will be held June 16 – 18th at the Seaport Hotel in Boston, MA with on-demand content available from June 28 through September 30, 2027.
Founded in 2013 by Kate Ackerman, MD, MPH, FACSM, the Female Athlete Conference was the first academic and medical conference dedicated to the female athlete. The scientific committee welcomes submissions that advance the health, well-being, and performance of female athletes, including research and clinical symposia, panel discussions, and other educational formats, as well as poster abstracts presenting original research. Submissions from researchers, physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, psychologists, social workers, athletic trainers, dietitians, physical therapists, policymakers, coaches, athletes, parents, and other professionals are encouraged.
Key dates:
- October 1st 2026: Submission deadline (11:59pmEDT)
- December 1st 2026: Acceptance notifications
- January 2027: Conference registrations opens
- June 16 – 18th 2027: In-person conference
- June 28- September 30, 2027: On-demand conference
